The Sabbath Forever

God doesn't change, and neither do any of His commandments.

For I am the Lord, I change not.
- Malachi 3:6 (KJV)

Right from the beginning God set up the seventh day as a rest day (Sabbath).

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
- Genesis 2:2-3 (KJV)

The Sabbath was kept before the Ten Commandments were given.

Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
- Exodus 16:26 (KJV)

The Ten Commandments were merely a written reminder of what was already in place.

God wants us to keep the Sabbath every week.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
- Exodus 20:8-11 (KJV)

And because God doesn't change, we will keep the Sabbath in heaven too (forever).

For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
- Isaiah 66:22-23 (KJV)

No other day was ever given.

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a [Sabbath] rest to the people of God.
- Hebrews 4:8-9 (KJV)

The word translated as "rest" comes from the Greek word "sabbatismos" which literally means "a Sabbath rest".

So now the Sabbath issue becomes a matter of obedience/disobedience.

If you think that God won't mind if you keep another day, you're wrong, and maybe you don't know God as well as you think.

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
- 1 John 2:4 (KJV)

God's commandments are not "suggestions". We must obey God's Law. Not 90%, not 99%, but 100%.

If ye love me, keep my commandments.
- John 14:15 (KJV)

The Sabbath matters. It's important, and it will play a vital role in the last days.

Remember the Sabbath day, it's a day of delight. Quality time with God.
