The Book of Enoch

Enoch was a righteous man who walked with God in the pre-Flood era.

And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
- Genesis 5:24 (KJV)

He is considered to be a prophet by many.

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
- Jude 1:14-15 (KJV)

Some time ago, a book called "The book of Enoch" (aka "1 Enoch") was found written in Ethiopian. Also, Aramaic and Hebrew manuscript fragments were found among the Dead Sea scrolls. Several people have since then assumed that the book of Enoch was written by the pre-Flood Enoch.

The book of Enoch covers several topics, but the most prominent one is that of how the fallen angels married the daughters of men, and spawned some kind of super-race, e.g. the nephilim (giants, men of renown).

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
- Genesis 6:4 (KJV)

Fallen angels are never referred to as sons of God however.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
- 1 John 3:10 (KJV)

The sons of God normally refer to believers.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
- John 1:12-13 (KJV)

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
- Galatians 3:26 (KJV)

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
- Romans 8:14 (KJV)

The whole idea of angels marrying daughters of men is therefore incorrect, and this then takes down the whole book of Enoch (including the flat earth theory).

Also, since when are giants 3,000 ells (1 ell = 18 inches) tall?

And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells.
- The book of 'Enoch' 7:2-3

Some say that the book of Enoch was removed from the Bible, however the truth is that it was deliberately added, and then rightfully removed again. Satan does what he can to discredit the Bible. Non-canonical books are left out of the Bible for a reason. Use caution.

The book of Enoch does not read the same way as other inspired books. It's a different reading style altogether.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
