Severity of Sin
There are basically two sides to God:
- God is Love
- God hates sin
Most people understand the first one quite well, but fail to see the second one.
God hates sin so much that He put the death penalty on it.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Romans 6:23 (KJV)
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
- Hebrews 9:22 (KJV)
Sin is a direct attack on God, and is a complete breakdown between God and us.
This is not a situation that God will allow to continue. (Which is why judgment is coming)
I have noticed that some people will say to themselves "God will forgive me for this", and then continue in sin.
That's a very dangerous mindset, and maybe you don't know God as well as you think.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
- 1 John 2:4 (KJV)
God's Law is not "The Ten Suggestions". No, it's "The Ten Commandments". Non-negotiable.
Satan will always try and lead you away from obeying God. Gradually, and subtly, until you are fully in sin.
I can already see this happening with the Sabbath/Sunday test, where people are already compromising the Sabbath.
Be strong, and don't give in to sin.
