Outreach Ideas
Okay, so we know that books and tracts are just "one means".
Let every Seventh-day Adventist ask himself, "What can I do to proclaim the third angel's message?" Christ came to this world to give this message to His servant to give to the churches. It is to be proclaimed to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. How are we to give it? The distribution of our literature is one means by which the message is to be proclaimed. Let every believer scatter broadcast tracts and leaflets and books containing the message for this time. Colporteurs are needed who will go forth to circulate our publications everywhere.

But there are tons of other things we can do of course, so in this article, I just want to do some brainstorming for other things that we can do together.
Here we go:
- Door knocking. Not for the fainthearted, but it is certainly a good way to approach people. I strongly suggest that you go with someone else. I once went out by myself, but that was horrible, but then I went out with Merita, and within 5 minutes we were having a cup of tea at some random person's place. Then we were offered lunch, and at the end of the idea someone gave us fruit from their tree. Completely different experience, I can tell you that.
- Letterboxing. Great fun.
- Paying someone else to do letterboxing. Even more fun!!
- Leave a comment on social media. If you already enjoy interacting on social media, it's quite easy to just leave a verse, or a quote, or something else, etc. I do this on YouTube sometimes. My account is called "It's not a chip".
- Leave some books (Controversy, Steps, Desire of Ages, Counsels, etc) in open libraries.
- Approach your local library, and ask if you can leave some books. Sometimes libraries have free book trolleys. You can ask if it's okay to leave a book there.
- Go to a community lunch, and ask if you can leave some books for on a table somewhere.
- Go to a market with a stall, or take a suitcase with books to the streets.
- Write/record a testimony and put it on a website (video or written).
- Post a handwritten "tract" card to a random street, e.g. "Random St 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc". I received such a letter once, and it made a BIG impact on me. Someone actually wrote that, and posted it to me.
- Hand out tracts on a street corner. Even better: ask someone to go with you.
- Get back into contact with family and friends by writing them a card, or sending them an email.
- Offer someone to "help out" for free.
- Firstlight sticker for on your car bumper. Just ask, and I'll do what I can do to find you some.
- Sell books on TradeMe for $1
Anyway, you get the idea...
I'm sure there are PLENTY of other things we could come up with, and I would love to see your ideas in the comment section. That way, we can all learn something, e.g. what do you do to get the Word out?
