Hurricanes

The word "hurricane" does not appear in the Bible, but there are definitely references to (stormy) winds.

When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
- Jeremiah 10:13 (KJV)

The prhase "treasures" can also be translated as "storehouses".

Here are some other verses.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.
- Ezekiel 13:13 (KJV)

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
- Psalms 107:25 (KJV)

Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word.
- Psalms 148:8 (KJV)

So definitely nothing new here.

Hurricanes are not prophesied in Matthew 24, but there is a clear reference in Luke 21 about the sea and waves roaring.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
- Luke 21:25-26 (KJV)

People today are definitely noticing that.

"It's a monster hurricane out there - it's bringing along with it something to be feared", Myers said, referring to the "extremely angry ocean" that Irma has been churning for so long.
- Dr. Joel N. Myers, founder, president and chairman of AccuWeather

God is using these events to wake people up.
