Hast Thou Not Known Me?

By "accident" I ran into the following verse.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
- John 14:8-9 (KJV)

The person who quoted it turned it into a personal question like this:

Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, __________?

Just add your name at the end.

That really made me think, and I was quite moved by this.

Satan is so busy distorting God's character all the time that we sometimes forget who God really is.

But I can assure you that God loves you, and that His promises are "good as gold".

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
- Romans 5:8 (KJV)

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.
- Titus 1:2 (KJV)
