Hardships

Then Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
- Acts 14:19-20 (KJV)

So they stoned Paul, left him for dead, he then got up, and went back into the city to preach the gospel.

The disciples went through much suffering, but they knew that that was part of their job.

And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
- Acts 14:21-22 (KJV)

Once you know you have to go to through suffering, don't ask God to take the suffering away, but rather ask God to make you strong.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
- 1 Peter 5:10 (KJV)
