Diet and Health

Most Seventh-Day Adventists are vegetarians, and follow the diet recommended by Ellen White.



This is sometimes also referred to as "the Garden of Eden diet".

It consists of:

  • Water
  • Grains
  • Fruits
  • Nuts
  • Vegetables
  • Set eating times (5-6 hours apart)
  • Exercise

The following should be avoided:

  • No cheese
  • No sugar
  • No caffeine
  • No meat

The benefits of this diet are:

  • Increased mental clarity
  • No more animal killing on your behalf
  • Weight loss
  • Fitness
