A Hard Saying

When a lot of disciples were following Jesus, He told them this.

For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
- John 6:55-56 (KJV)

To them it was "a hard saying".

Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
- John 6:60 (KJV)

And many left.

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
- John 6:66 (KJV)

Most people today do not understand that they are appointed to die.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.
- Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)

It is in fact "a hard saying" for our time.

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
- Revelation 13:15 (KJV)

This is of course better known as the Sabbath/Sunday test.
